Imagine if suddenly all the office space in downtown San Francisco was suddenly unnecessary?

In 2016 tech folks were talking about artificial intelligence taking over most office jobs. In 2020 a global pandemic required most office workers to work from home.

This project sought to illustrate a utopian world where office towers were converted to whatever individuals in the near future needed - housing, workshops, studios, spaces to explore and inspire.

In the style of the Surrealist party game “The Exquisite Corpse” where each guest adds a unique piece to the overall artwork, this project imagines abandoned office towers being democratized.
