The concept is survival
There are many little red shacks from just after WWII scattered across Iceland’s extreme geography and extraordinary landscapes. People usually run into these cabins when they’re caught in a sudden blizzard or thick fog in order to survive. This design for a larger cabin is meant to replace those shacks and also provide shelter for the many tourists that set out to see the beauty of Iceland on foot in the 21st-Century. The shelter is thoughtfully designed to be easily installed by available helicopters and placed lightly onto the shifting terrain in multiple remote locations.
