WELCOME!
Peter Jacob Caesar is an interdisciplinary artist and designer whose work explores the intersection of mythology, architecture, fantasy, and personal transformation. Trained as a fine artist he often paints pieces that reference historical paintings and movements, but he is also not afraid to break free from the canvas into more abstract and sculptural objects.
Peter studied architecture and art history at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before moving up to San Francisco in 2017 and has been working there as an artist, figure arts model, and interior designer ever since.
His work balances several tensions - whimsy and precision, luxury and handicraft, dramatic monumental beauty with soft vulnerability. Recurring motifs including celestial imagery, classical sculptures, Dutch Renaissance florals and interiors all frequently make appearances in his work. Moving fluidly between drawing, painting, spatial design, sculpture, and narrative, his practice is driven by a desire to transform intangible emotional experiences into immersive and materially rich worlds.
Whether designing an interior or creating an art piece, Peter approaches each project as an act of world-building. He is interested in how spaces and objects can hold memory, how fantasy can become a form of agency, and how beauty can be more than decoration, but as a means of survival, transformation, and self-authorship.
