DIY PAINTED PUMPKINS
For Halloween decorations this year I wanted something a little more modern and artsy than typical jack-o-lanterns.
Painted pumpkins are the perfect solution!
My best friend and I drove down to a pumpkin patch where I collected . But if you don’t have access to such a basic bitch autumnal outing, store bought is fine!
Once you’ve secured a few pumpkins of various sizes and shapes (a small, a wide, and a tall for example) then you’ll need to wash the surface to removed any dirt.
Then add a layer of mod-podge or white glue to prime the surface and stems of the pumpkins.
Once dry, you can add the first coat of acrylic paint. You may need to add several coats of paint if using a cheaper paint or light color like white or pink. For the stems I used a metallic gold paint
Once your base is dry, start adding patterns with a contrasting color! I’m drawing inspiration from McKenzie & Child’s. You could also reference Kusama the queen of polka dotted pumpkins!
Et voila! Now you have unique and modern pumpkins to decorate your home this fall!
